Purple Corduroy Winery, Blonde Siren Sauvignon Blanc, 2019
Composition: 76% Sauvignon Blanc / 12% Viognier / 7% Roussanne / 5% Symphony
The radiant sea nymph of sun-kissed juices. Her seaside seduction is a tasteful affair with a tang of golden nectar to which nothing compares. Her glorious glow rouses titillating good fun, with sweet kisses and skinny-dips soaked in lunar or sun. Purple Corduroy is a Laguna Beach surf brand created by 3 surf “bromigos”. Award-winning Winemaker Jeffrey “Riptide” Farthing is also the head winemaker for Michael David Winery who produces nationally distributed brands, “Freakshow”, “Petite Pit” and “Inkblot”.
Whole cluster pressed, retaining only free run and soft press fractions. Cold settled, clean racked, and fermented in cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks, filtered and bottled. The result is a crisp, clean white wine with a complex aromatic profile, unique flavors, and a focus on the palate. Lodi has more grape varieties planted than any other viticultural appellation in North America. This provided an excellent opportunity for Dr. Riptide to showcase a unique style of Sauvignon Blanc that is still true to varietal character.
AROMA & FLAVOR
The experience is ever-changing. Like a chameleon in the rainforest, this wine seamlessly drifts in and out of color as the wine opens up in the glass. Pan-roasted macadamia nuts, green mango, white peaches, yellow nectarines, lemon zest, key lime, and Grand Marnier all make cameo appearances. There is a distinct minerality that tangos with citrus-like acidity.
